Rhinophyma Laser Resurfacing

Service Description

Rhinophyma is a progressive form of rosacea that causes thickened, uneven skin and enlargement of the nose. Our treatment combines vascular laser therapy to reduce visible redness and blood vessels with fully ablative erbium laser resurfacing to carefully remove excess tissue and reshape the nose. Treatment is completed in stages, with the vascular laser generally performed at least four weeks before resurfacing. Significant improvement may be achieved in one resurfacing session, although additional treatments may be required depending on severity. Expect approximately one to two weeks of intensive healing, including redness, swelling, drainage and crusting. Persistent pinkness may continue for several weeks or months. Antiviral and antibacterial medications, occlusive wound care and careful follow-up are required. A medical consultation is necessary to confirm the diagnosis, assess candidacy and discuss the possibility of recurrence, scarring, pigment changes and the limitations of treatment.
